I’m reaching out to you to see if you are interested in playing in Ball Hockey tournaments next year.

Despite all the unknowns right now, I want to start planning for the upcoming tournament season. I know it seems like we may never get to play organized hockey again, but the games will be here soon enough and I want to be ready for when they return.

The plan is to put together the best team possible for a series of tournaments next year.

1. Chicago Ball Hockey Classic
2. North American Championships (C division)
3. The Club Championships (B division)
4. National Dekhockey 3 on 3

I’d like to build a team of around 25 guys which includes 2-3 goalies that gives us the best chance in each of these events. Not everybody would be available to play in all of these tournaments, but hopefully we can field rosters using only the 25 guys we have.

In order to prepare, I’d like to meet as regularly as possible so we can really come together into a good team. The first time we meet will be next Sunday at 11:00 in Woodridge. We could meet every week, or every other week, depending on the interest and commitment level of the players.

I am going to open these scrimmages up to a large group of players to give anybody who is interested an opportunity to play and even make the team.

Sometime around the new year, we will choose the best team possible from all the interested players and get that team ready for the tournaments.

There will still be opportunities to play in tournaments for the players who do not make the top team. There will be a masters team for guys aged 37 and over, and we will enter teams in lower divisions to give everybody a chance to compete.
